Fans say it's hard to get... Jung Yong-jin, a certified 'BTS true fan,' says "ARMY is purple"
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Chung Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of Shinsegae Group (53), expressed his fandom for BTS.
On the 23rd, Vice Chairman Chung revealed on his social media (SNS) that he purchased purple ink used for fountain pens and shared a short video.
In the video, Vice Chairman Chung used a Montblanc fountain pen to write "Ami neun boraji" (Army is purple) in purple ink. He also added the hashtag "Purchased purple ink #I am Army." Army is the official fan club name of BTS, and purple is the color symbolizing BTS.
This is not the first time Vice Chairman Chung mentioned BTS on SNS. In August, he stated, "I will try to become an Army," and in October, he posted a photo holding BTS photocards with the hashtag "I am Army♡," showing his fandom.
The photocards are goods that can only be purchased when visiting 'HYBE Insight,' a complex cultural space operated by BTS's agency HYBE. Notably, Vice Chairman Chung owns the full set of seven individual photocards, which are difficult even for fans to obtain, earning him much envy from many Army members at the time.
