[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] A patient in his 50s who was diagnosed with COVID-19 and undergoing treatment in Gwangju died after two days.
According to Gwangju City on the 23rd, the Gwangju patient number 7327, who was receiving COVID-19 treatment at Chosun University Hospital around midnight the previous night, passed away. The cumulative number of deaths in the Gwangju area is 37.
The confirmed patient in his 50s was one of the cluster infection cases that occurred on the 22nd at a nursing hospital in Buk-gu, and was transferred to Chosun University Hospital, where he died after two days of treatment.
Gwangju City will conduct the funeral with cremation first according to COVID-19 funeral guidelines. Funeral expenses will be fully covered by the national government.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed patients who died this month is currently seven, which is the second highest after 11 in January.
