December Asset Disclosure of High-Ranking Officials, Sejonghakdang Chairman's Assets Total 4.3 Billion Won
Government Public Officials Ethics Committee Publishes Asset Registration Status of 43 High-Ranking Officials in the Republic of Korea Electronic Gazette
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] According to the December irregular asset disclosure results, Lee Hae-young, Chairman of the Sejonghakdang Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, reported assets totaling 4,399,630,000 KRW, the highest among current high-ranking public officials.
The Government Official Ethics Committee disclosed the asset registration details of 43 high-ranking public officials through the Republic of Korea Electronic Official Gazette on the 24th.
The disclosed high-ranking public officials include 15 new appointees, 4 promotions, and 23 retirees, totaling 43 individuals.
Among current high-ranking public officials, following Chairman Lee Hae-young, Ahn Young-in, Director of the Korea Meteorological Industry Technology Institute at the Korea Meteorological Administration (4,123,660,000 KRW), and Kang Joon-seok, President of the Busan Port Authority under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (3,598,010,000 KRW), reported relatively large assets.

Among retired high-ranking public officials, Lee Jong-in, former Public Relations Officer of the Prime Minister's Secretariat, reported the largest assets at 22,020,520,000 KRW. Kang Hyun-hwa, former Chairman of the Sejonghakdang Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, reported 5,264,740,000 KRW, followed by Lee Cheong-ryong, former Chairman of the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, with 5,040,220,000 KRW.
