LG Chem and LG Energy Solution Labor and Management Donate 70 Million Won Through Voluntary Sharing
Joint Labor-Management Voluntary Fundraising of 70 Million KRW Supports Winter Supplies for Vulnerable Groups
Continued Year-End Neighbor Assistance with Donations to Childcare Facilities and Blood Donation Campaigns
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] LG Chem and LG Energy Solution labor and management share warmth at the end of the year through relay social contribution activities. They support cold-weather supplies to help vulnerable groups withstand the cold wave and contribute to overcoming the blood supply shortage through blood donation campaigns at all business sites.
On the 23rd, the two companies announced that they donated 70 million KRW raised through the "Ten Thousand Won Sharing" campaign to the Korean Red Cross Seoul Office in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 22nd.
"Ten Thousand Won Sharing" is a voluntary donation by employees delivered to those in need at different times, such as COVID-19 medical staff, small business owners, and disaster victims. It is part of the joint labor-management social contribution activity called the "LG Green Chem Project."
This year, LG Chem and LG Energy Solution labor and management decided to help neighbors in local communities who have to endure the harsh winter amid COVID-19 and economic difficulties at the end of the year. Vulnerable social groups such as elderly living alone or child-headed households used to gather at senior centers and cold wave shelters to escape the cold, but recently, social distancing has made even that difficult.
The Korean Red Cross plans to deliver essential cold-weather supplies to vulnerable social groups nationwide using the 70 million KRW donation from the two companies.
The companies continue their year-end social contribution activities through relay blood donations and donations to child care facilities. Since the 8th, a joint labor-management relay blood donation campaign involving employees from 11 domestic business sites has been underway.
Thirty million KRW raised by headquarters employees from the regular employee fundraising "Twin Angel Fund" was separately delivered to three child care facilities in Seoul on the 21st, apart from the Ten Thousand Won Sharing campaign.
