The Mental Health Welfare Center began its operations in 2008 within the Yonghyeon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, but due to the reconstruction of that administrative welfare center, a new building project was initiated this March.
The new building was constructed behind the Sacheon City Health Center with a total project cost of 2.3 billion KRW, consisting of two above-ground floors and a total area of 564㎡.
The first floor houses offices and counseling rooms staffed by professionals, while the second floor includes program rooms, treatment rooms, and lounges where education, prevention, and rehabilitation programs can be operated.
Services provided include psychological counseling related to disasters such as COVID-19, early detection and intervention for mental illness patients and high-risk suicide groups, operation of rehabilitation programs for mental illness patients, and mental health and suicide prevention education.
