Hampyeong-gun Leads the Way in Creating a Gender-Equal Organizational Culture
Jeonnam Province Selected as an Excellent Institution in the 'Gender Equality Promotion Performance Evaluation' Hosted by Jeonnam Province
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has been leading efforts to create a gender-equal organizational culture in the public sector.
On the 22nd, according to the county, it was selected as an excellent institution in the '2021 Gender Equality Promotion Performance Evaluation' hosted by Jeonnam Province, receiving an excellence award along with a prize of 2 million won.
Jeonnam Province annually evaluates the promotion performance related to gender equality policy activation targeting 22 cities and counties, selecting and awarding outstanding cities and counties.
In this evaluation, the province comprehensively assessed a total of nine areas including gender impact assessment performance, securing gender-responsive budgeting, and participation rate of female committee members.
Hampyeong County received high marks for having over 90% of its public officials voluntarily complete gender awareness education and the four major violence prevention trainings, as well as achieving policy improvements for gender equality throughout the county administration.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik stated, “We will actively promote various gender equality policies to make Hampyeong a better place for everyone to live,” adding, “Furthermore, the public service community will take the lead in creating an equal organizational culture.”
