Earlier, on the 21st, Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly and stated, "Since I have no role contrary to my will, I will step down from all positions within the election committee."
Afterwards, he posted the Rudolph headband photo on his Facebook without any explanation. This was a re-share of a photo he posted on his Facebook on December 21, 2012. At that time, he wrote, "This was worn by President-elect Park Geun-hye while singing with the youth during her last rally at Gwanghwamun," adding, "I kept it to later gift it back when she retires as a successful president."
Regarding this, Kim Cheol-geun, the Political Affairs Officer of the Party Leader, said in an interview with MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' on the 22nd, "I just called him and asked why he posted the Rudolph photo," adding, "The intention was to return it when she becomes a successful president, and even now, he wants to make her a successful president."
However, Kim conveyed that there is no possibility of Lee returning to the election committee. Kim added, "The leader's greatest mission is to win the election."
On the previous day, Lee also wrote on Facebook, "As the key figures (Yoon candidate's core associates) wanted, Lee Jun-seok has withdrawn from the election," and added, "Feel free to create card news."
He continued, "Since the theory of generational coalition has practically collapsed, someone should devise a new grand strategy and prepare the election strategy accordingly," criticizing, "Even though I repeatedly said to handle the pufferfish carefully, it ended up being blended in a mixer."
In response, Kim explained, "This means that our party's winning strategy, as seen in the April 7 by-election, was to form a coalition between the 2030 and 6070 generations, the so-called 'generation encirclement theory,' but that itself has become difficult."

Meanwhile, Kim suggested the possibility that a core associate of candidate Yoon might be behind this incident. He said, "Yoon has many strengths, such as trusting and using people to the end and having a strong sense of justice that cannot tolerate corruption and injustice," but criticized, "In the midst of a complicated election and with limited political experience, the so-called Yoon core associates supporting Yoon inevitably emerge as a key problem."
