Professor Kim Hong-gi of Hannam University Appointed President of the International Economic Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Professor Kim Hong-gi of the Department of Economics at Hannam University was inaugurated as the 45th president at the regular general meeting of the Korean International Economic Association held at Sogang University on the 22nd. His term is one year starting from the 23rd.
The newly appointed president Kim has served as a member of the Financial Development Deliberation Committee, chairman of the Bond Financial Institution Adjustment Committee, chairman of the Small and Medium Venture Business Evaluation Committee, member of the Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee, and president of the Korean Development Policy Association.

Founded in 1977, the Korean International Economic Association is a representative academic society in the domestic economics field, with about 1,500 members including university economics professors, doctorate holders in economics from public and private research institutions, corporations, and government. It publishes the Korean academic journal "International Economic Research" and the English academic journal "International Economic Journal" quarterly. It actively exchanges through seminars hosted by the Japanese International Economic Association.
