At the first trial held on the 22nd at the Suwon District Court Anyang Branch, 1st Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Kim Jun-young), Mr. A (57) responded "Yes, that's correct" when asked by the judge, "Do you admit the charges?" Regarding the desire for a jury trial, he said, "I do not want it."
Mr. A, the principal of an elementary school in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, is accused of placing a small camera on the toilet seat in the women's staff restroom at the school on October 26-27, hidden under tissue paper, with the intent to film women. He is also accused of secretly installing a mobile phone under a conference table in video recording mode 21 times from June to October, filming the body parts of staff members or attempting to do so.
Additionally, Mr. A is under investigation for installing a small voice recorder in the teachers' office around the same period and recording conversations of staff members without their consent 11 times.
