View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Presidential Committee on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, directly under the president, invited Audrey Tang, a minister-level official from Taiwan and Digital Minister without Portfolio of the Executive Yuan, as a speaker but canceled on the day of the event. Regarding this, the Blue House stated on the 22nd that "it was not out of consideration for China, but rather in accordance with our diplomatic principles."
A Blue House official told reporters in the afternoon, "There is no change in our continuous efforts to promote substantial exchanges through unofficial relations such as economic and cultural ties with Taiwan," affirming this stance.
This is largely consistent with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' explanation on the related matter.
When asked whether President Moon Jae-in's attendance at the Beijing Olympics was being discussed, the official responded, "As far as I know, there are no related discussions underway."

Regarding expectations that related discussions might take place at the Korea-China Deputy Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue scheduled for the 23rd, the official said, "We hope for constructive discussions."
