Daesang Group announced on the 22nd that the scholarship quiz show "Chang Nguyen Tuoi 13 (Let's Become a Top Scholar at Age 13)," sponsored through its local subsidiaries 'Miwon Vietnam' and 'Duc Viet Food' as part of its social contribution activities in Vietnam, was successfully concluded.
The final round was broadcast on the 18th on Vietnam's terrestrial TV channel VTV3, attracting widespread interest. This is the first time Daesang Group's scholarship quiz show has been aired on Vietnamese TV. VTV3 is one of the most preferred channels locally.
The scholarship quiz show "Chang Nguyen Tuoi 13" targets Vietnamese middle school students in grades 6 to 9 (ages 10 to 14), where participants compete in knowledge of history, geography, national language, and mathematics in the form of a "past exam." Daesang Group has focused on the high proportion of youth aged 10 to 14 among Vietnam's total population and has been conducting scholarship projects for Vietnamese youth aimed at educational and cultural development since 2017.
This event featured a total prize of 500 million dong (approximately 25 million KRW), making it the largest scale ever held. The online preliminary round saw participation from about 2,500 students across 26 schools in six northern provinces and cities, including Hanoi. The 100 students who advanced to the finals solved a total of 33 questions over five rounds to determine the winner. Among the questions were topics related to kimchi and tteokbokki, which most participants answered correctly.
A Daesang Group representative stated, "We continuously carry out domestic and international social contribution activities to fulfill corporate responsibility and create social value. This scholarship quiz show is an effort to support the dreams of Vietnam's future generation, and we will continue to pursue diverse and meaningful activities going forward."
