Yujin Group Partners with Samcheok City to Develop Tourism and Leisure Town

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Eugene Group is promoting the development of the Samcheok Tourism and Leisure Town in collaboration with Samcheok City, Gangwon Province.
Eugene Group announced on the 22nd that it signed a "Business Agreement for Investment in the Samcheok Tourism and Leisure Town Development Project" with Samcheok City at Samcheok City Hall, Gangwon Province, on the 21st.
Through this agreement, both parties will cooperate to establish stay-type accommodation facilities, build tourism and leisure infrastructure, and develop the tourism sector including the creation of a low-carbon complex leisure resort.
Led by Samcheok City, the "Eco Life Town Development Project" aims to build an approximately 3.7 million square meter area around the former nuclear power plant site in Samcheok City, Gangwon Province, into a hub for leisure tourism by 2026.
Eugene Group affiliates Eugene Corporation and Dongyang plan to work with Samcheok City to develop this area into a tourism hub on the East Coast by constructing experiential parks, village regeneration projects, hotels, resorts, and golf courses.

A Eugene Group official stated, "This project will become an energy tourism complex that integrates cutting-edge technologies allowing simultaneous enjoyment of renewable energy, new local initiatives, leisure, and relaxation," adding, "We will work together with Samcheok City to establish a new tourism hub and leisure tourism center on the East Coast."
