Changwon City to Rebuild Oedong 119 Safety Center Building... Strengthening Citizen Safety Network

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 21st for the reconstruction of the Oedong 119 Safety Center building.
The city is investing 4.6 billion KRW to build the Oedong 119 Safety Center at 786 Changwon-daero, Seongsan-gu, consisting of one building with four above-ground floors and a total floor area of 1,527㎡.
Scheduled for completion in December next year, the center will include a garage for rescue and emergency dispatch vehicles, offices for various administrative tasks, and a mental health stabilization room for firefighters to manage post-traumatic stress.
The reconstruction of the Oedong 119 Safety Center, originally built in 1979, has been one of the long-standing projects of the local community. With this reconstruction, the city plans to strengthen the citizen safety network and provide firefighting services befitting the status of Changwon Special City by improving a comfortable working environment.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, “In the most dangerous moments, 119 has been there so that citizens could be safe,” and added, “I hope that with this reconstruction, the staff will be able to provide faster firefighting services in a more comfortable environment.”
