23 Confirmed Cases at a Nursing Hospital in Gwangju... 311 People Undergo Full Testing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Twenty-three people were collectively infected with COVID-19 at a nursing hospital in Gwangju.
According to Gwangju City on the 21st, 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases occurred at a nursing hospital located in Buk-gu on the same day.
As some inpatients showed COVID-19 symptoms and tested positive through rapid antigen tests, quarantine authorities conducted comprehensive testing on 311 people, including 197 inpatients and 14 staff members.
As a result, 22 patients and 1 nursing assistant, totaling 23 people, were confirmed positive.
The quarantine authorities are currently conducting an on-site risk assessment and are disinfecting and ventilating the hospital after transferring the confirmed cases.
They are also investigating the exact infection routes of the confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, as of 6 p.m. on the same day, the daily number of confirmed cases in Gwangju remained at 76, the same as the previous day.
