Gurye-gun Confirms Next Year's Main Budget at 330 Billion Won

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced on the 21st that the next year's main budget of 330 billion won was finally approved at the county council.

This amount is an increase of 16.1 billion won compared to this year's main budget of 313.9 billion won.

By sector, the budget was allocated as follows: social welfare sector 61.3 billion won (18.6%), agriculture sector 60.5 billion won (18.3%), regional development sector 30.7 billion won (9.3%), culture and tourism sector 25.2 billion won (7.7%), etc.

Gurye-gun plans to steadily promote these projects by securing next year's main budget for large-scale flood recovery projects caused by last year's heavy rain damage and for local economic revitalization and citizen welfare projects despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Until now, the financial burden of large-scale flood recovery projects has been a major obstacle to financial management.

Gurye-gun stated that disaster demand, which has been continuously requested to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, will be reflected from next year, and additional ordinary local allocation tax will be supported.

It is expected to somewhat alleviate financial difficulties by creating a financial stabilization fund from the budget saved by reducing expenditures in this year's 4th supplementary budget.

Among the major projects of the county next year in the social welfare sector are ▲basic pension 25.3 billion won ▲livelihood benefits 4.5 billion won ▲senior job projects 2.6 billion won ▲customized senior care services 1.6 billion won ▲support for senior living facilities 1.4 billion won ▲support for activities of the disabled 3.6 billion won ▲childcare fees for infants and toddlers 1.7 billion won ▲child allowance 1.3 billion won ▲family center construction costs 900 million won.

In the agriculture sector, the budget includes ▲public payment system 8.4 billion won ▲farmers' public benefit allowance 3.3 billion won ▲eco-friendly organic agriculture complex town construction project 3.1 billion won ▲New Vitality Plus project 1.5 billion won ▲eco-friendly agricultural complex construction 1.2 billion won.

For regional development and living infrastructure construction, the budget includes ▲urban regeneration New Deal project (central district type) 5.6 billion won ▲urban regeneration New Deal project (general neighborhood type) 3.4 billion won ▲urban creation complex plaza construction project 2.7 billion won ▲parking lot construction near the 5-day market 3 billion won ▲wellness complex center new building design costs 800 million won ▲public stadium auxiliary soccer field remodeling project 1.9 billion won ▲old water purification plant maintenance project 3.3 billion won ▲land local water supply phase 2 expansion project 2 billion won ▲smart water network management infrastructure construction, etc. 3.7 billion won.

In the tourism sector, the budget includes ▲Hwaeom 4-color Blue Tour project 1.7 billion won ▲Asiatic black bear sanctuary construction project 1.5 billion won ▲Sansuyu natural recreation forest supplementation project 1.6 billion won ▲Jirisan garden (forest garden) construction project 1.5 billion won ▲life healing house complex 1.2 billion won ▲new project design costs such as Jichobong surrounding tourist attraction 600 million won ▲Jirisan hot spring tourist site maintenance project 1.4 billion won ▲forest cultivation project 2.3 billion won.

In the safety sector, the budget includes ▲sabo (erosion control) project 2.8 billion won ▲stream and Bonhwang small river maintenance project 2.1 billion won ▲Seosicheon river disaster prevention project 1.6 billion won ▲village crime prevention CCTV and rural living environment maintenance project 600 million won, etc.

Gurye-gun Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “We will create new growth engines for Gurye through the establishment of a 4+α tourism zone utilizing Jirisan and Seomjin River, the construction of an eco-friendly organic agriculture complex town, and the attraction of iCOOP Complex 3, promoting the sixth industrialization of agriculture.”
