Considering the COVID-19 situation, about 250 graduates from four campuses nationwide including Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Gumi participated online, while the event on-site was attended by Minister Ahn Kyung-duk of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Yoon Young-chan of the Democratic Party, Kim Jeong-jae of the People Power Party, Park Hak-gyu, President of Samsung Electronics Management Support Office, and 50 graduates.
At the graduation ceremony on the 21st, figures from various sectors encouraged the graduates who completed their education despite difficult circumstances over the past year. Minister Ahn said, "I hope you establish yourselves as software talents with competitiveness in the era of digital transformation and shine throughout our society," and President Park said, "I hope the graduates grow into leaders who lead Korea and the world with confidence in the software developer path they have chosen."
SSAFY operates a program that trains software developers equipped with capabilities to be immediately deployed to companies through 1,600 hours of education over one year, with 8 hours daily, including collaborative projects among trainees. All trainees receive a monthly education support fund of 1 million KRW, and SSAFY runs a job support center providing career consulting and recruitment information. Since its launch in December 2018, SSAFY has graduated 2,785 people through five classes. Among them, 2,091 have been employed, and the cumulative number of graduates has surpassed 2,000.
