SK Telecom to Integrate Amazon Alexa into AI Speaker 'Nugu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom announced on the 21st that it has launched the country's first 'NUGU Multi-Agent' service supporting both Korean and English through collaboration with Amazon.
SK Telecom explained that it configured a multi-agent by integrating Amazon's 'Alexa Voice Service' into its AI speaker 'NUGU candle.' Users can access both Korean and English AI services through a single AI speaker. Saying the Korean command 'Aria' activates the Korean service, while saying the English command 'Alexa' activates the English service.
Both NUGU and Alexa support basic functions such as weather, news, emotional conversations, and calendar. Domestic content like the music streaming service FLO or Podbbang can be used on NUGU, while free internet radio services like TuneIn are available on Alexa.
The speaker lights up sky blue when NUGU is activated and dark blue when Alexa is activated. SK Telecom NUGU candle users can access this service by updating the app and selecting the 'Amazon Alexa Connection' menu in the NUGU app.
Hyun-A Lee, head of SK Telecom AI&CO (Company), explained, "SKT NUGU has met Alexa to introduce the country's first multi-agent."
