CJ Group Donates 2 Billion KRW in Year-End Neighborly Love Fundraising
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ Group announced on the 21st that it has donated 2 billion KRW in Neighborly Love funds to the Community Chest of Korea to mark the end of the year.
The donation will be used for cultural and educational support programs aimed at the healthy growth of underprivileged children and youth, social job connection projects for young artists, food resource circulation, and package recycling programs.
Since 2015, CJ has practiced sharing management by delivering year-end Neighborly Love funds to the Community Chest of Korea, donating a total of 16 billion KRW to date.
A CJ representative stated, “We hope that warm support will reach neighbors who are going through difficult times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “We will continue to make efforts to spread a culture of sharing throughout society by utilizing the group’s various infrastructures.”
Meanwhile, CJ has carried out various sharing activities this year to practice the group’s philosophy of coexistence. The CJ Sharing Foundation, CJ Group’s social contribution foundation, previously provided cultural experiences and food sharing worth 400 million KRW to over 30,000 children in 1,300 study rooms nationwide in September. Last month, it delivered a total of 110 tons of kimchi, including to 2,000 regional children’s centers nationwide, as well as elderly welfare facilities and facilities for the disabled.
