Suncheon City Promotes 'Sharing Love Firewood' to Overcome COVID-19 Cold Wave
Sharing a Total of 50 Tons of Firewood with 50 Difficult Neighboring Households
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 20th that it will deliver firewood of love to elderly living alone and socially vulnerable groups until the 31st to spread the culture of 'sharing and caring' during the winter season.
'Sharing Firewood of Love' involves collecting logging byproducts generated from forest projects such as forest thinning and forest road construction promoted by the city, processing them into suitable sizes for direct use in stoves and wood boilers, and delivering them directly to the target households.
This year, 50 households including elderly living alone, disabled, and low-income families have been selected, and a total of 50 tons of firewood will be delivered, with 1 ton per household.

An official from the Suncheon City Forestry Department said, "We are promoting firewood sharing to help socially vulnerable groups who are going through even more difficult times due to COVID-19 have a warm winter," and added, "Although it is a small sharing, we hope it will serve as an opportunity to spread interest and sharing for the local neighbors in need at the end of the year."
