Hanmi Semiconductor Launches 12-Inch Micro Saw
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Global semiconductor equipment company Hanmi Semiconductor announced on the 20th that it has succeeded in strengthening its diverse lineup according to the characteristics of system semiconductor packages by launching a 12-inch micro SAW equipment (micro SAW P1121).
Micro SAW is an essential process equipment for cutting (SAW) semiconductor packages. Hanmi Semiconductor released its first 10-inch micro SAW model (micro SAW P2101) with a dual chuck in June. Then, in October, it launched a 20-inch micro SAW (micro SAW P1201) for jumbo PCBs, establishing itself as a specialized micro SAW company.
Hanmi Semiconductor Vice Chairman Kwak Dongshin said, "The third 12-inch micro SAW equipment can respond to the detailed needs of customers that cannot be realized with existing models, depending on the characteristics and types of system semiconductor packages," adding, "A major feature is that, as a specialized micro SAW company, we have configured a product lineup that allows selection of various sizes."
He continued, "Hanmi Semiconductor owns four factories on approximately 13,000 pyeong of land and can produce up to 2,400 units annually," introducing, "By applying vibration-free iron casting (casting platform) and vertically integrating equipment production from design, parts processing, software, assembly, to inspection, we can reduce delivery times by more than half compared to competitors."
He added, "Our strength lies in the ability to immediately respond to the diverse equipment demands of global semiconductor customers including TSMC and outsourced packaging companies (OSAT)."
Founded in 1980, Hanmi Semiconductor received the '200 Million Dollar Export Tower' award at the 58th Trade Day ceremony held earlier this month. It is a representative Korean semiconductor equipment company recognized by over 320 customers worldwide through a diverse equipment lineup including the world’s number one market share equipment such as micro SAW & vision placement, EMI shield lineup, TC bonder, FC bonder, and strip grinder.
