[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu held the ‘2021 Seocho-gu Youth Networking Day’ event on the 15th to share the achievements of youth projects this year and to revitalize the local youth network.
The event took place at ‘Coffee Lounge 55,’ one of the youth gallery cafes in the area. Fifteen members of the Seocho Youth Network and related personnel, who have continuously participated in youth support projects, attended to share their achievements and allowed youth who could not attend in person to join via real-time online streaming.
The ‘Seocho Youth Network,’ participants in the achievement sharing meeting, is a policy discovery group composed of young people living or active in the area. They have been engaged in various activities this year by discovering and proposing youth policies as policy producers.
In particular, the ‘E-commerce Expert Training Course’ and ‘S-Live Commerce Education,’ which were conducted this year based on proposals from the Seocho Youth Network last year, are representative projects proposed by the youth network. These projects provide education to plan diverse content by field in line with the society where non-face-to-face interactions have become the norm. The students who participated this year praised the programs at the achievement sharing meeting, saying they were able to prepare for employment and entrepreneurship suited to the untact era.
Additionally, the ‘Book Club Program with Local Independent Bookstores,’ where youth conduct reading discussions through literary works, received many suggestions to increase the number of sessions and will be reflected and expanded in next year’s projects.
The mother of a young artist with developmental disabilities who participated in the youth gallery cafe support project expressed at the achievement sharing meeting, “Participating in the youth gallery cafe exhibition, many visitors to the cafe complimented the paintings as beautiful and wonderful. Through this exhibition organized by the district office, I hope people remember the artist not as someone with a disability but as an individual artist. I am grateful for this great opportunity during difficult times.”
