Women's Curling 'Team Kim' Secures Spot for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] The women's curling national team, 'Team Kim,' secured the final spot for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics by defeating Latvia.
Team Kim won 8-5 against Latvia in the final match of the Olympic Qualification Event (OQE) women's four-person tournament held on the 18th in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
With the victory over Latvia, Team Kim will represent Korea in the women's four-person curling event at the Beijing Olympics, one of the three curling categories. The men's team and the mixed doubles team also participated in the Olympic Qualification Event but failed to secure Olympic berths.

In the Beijing Winter Olympics scheduled for February next year, Team Kim will challenge for their second consecutive Olympic medal against the host country China, Switzerland, Russia, the United States, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Scotland, and Japan (in order of Olympic qualification). Team Kim won the silver medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
