'Guppi the National Secretary' Selected as the No.1 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Policy of the Year by the Public
Online Survey Conducted on 21 Policies Across 6 Areas with 9,192 Participants

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] This year, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's best policy chosen by the public was ‘Guppi, the National Secretary’.
On the 19th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced the results of a nationwide online survey conducted from the 6th to the 12th under the theme ‘2021 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Best Policies.’ The vote targeted 21 major policies across 6 sectors implemented by the Ministry in 2021. A total of 9,192 citizens participated in the vote.
The top policy selected by the public was ‘Guppi, the National Secretary,’ which received 928 votes (10.1%). Launched in March 2021, the ‘National Secretary’ service is a personalized administrative information notification service that conveniently provides essential lifestyle information such as transportation, health, and education. It has received great response, surpassing 13 million subscribers within six months of its launch.
The second place went to ‘Strengthening Safety in School Zones,’ which received 837 votes (9.1%). Since January 2020, the Ministry has been gradually implementing the ‘Measures to Strengthen Traffic Safety in School Zones’ to reduce child traffic accidents. This year, various projects were promoted, including the installation of new sidewalks and safety facilities, as well as speed and parking enforcement equipment, to enhance safety in school zones. The Ministry plans to progressively expand unmanned traffic enforcement equipment in school zones nationwide by next year to create safer school routes.
The third place was ‘Payment of 11 Trillion Won in COVID-19 Overcoming Coexistence National Support Fund,’ which received 749 votes (8.2%). The Ministry provided the coexistence national support fund to encourage ordinary citizens who have maintained daily life while adhering to quarantine rules during the prolonged COVID-19 situation, as well as local small business owners, supporting the revitalization of neighborhood and regional economies. Other major policies included 4th place ‘Launch of Subsidy24, a Service That Finds Government Subsidies for You’ (7.1%) and 5th place ‘OECD Government Trust Ranking 20th, Highest Ever’ (5.6%).
