Damyang-gun Awarded 'Excellent Institution' in Jeollanam-do Food Culture Improvement Evaluation
Recognized for 5 Consecutive Years as Having a 'High' Level of Food Culture and Various Excellent Policy Projects
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County has once again proven the high level of its food culture by being selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years in the 2021 Food Culture Improvement Evaluation conducted by Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 17th, Jeollanam-do conducted a food culture improvement evaluation targeting 22 cities and counties to improve awareness of food culture and create a safe dining environment. The evaluation consisted of 19 quantitative indicators across 8 categories, including ▲establishment of a food culture improvement promotion system ▲implementation of hygiene grading system ▲children’s dietary safety management ▲food culture improvement policies.
As a result of the evaluation, Damyang County received high scores in all indicators such as restaurant hygiene grading system, citizen safe restaurants, and special food culture improvement policies, earning an excellent institution award along with a prize fund of 10 million KRW.
This year, Damyang County has achieved significant results by implementing various policies such as the ‘Support Project for Improving the Environment of Customer Service Establishments’ Kitchens,’ ‘Visiting Food Culture Improvement Education,’ and ‘Small-scale Restaurant Revitalization Project’ to create a hygienic and safe food culture environment centered on daily quarantine.
