[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Intern Reporter Lee Seryeong] Namwon-dong, Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk, undertook the maintenance of outdoor advertisements such as signs and banners obstructing visibility together with members of the Nature Conservation Association on the 16th.
An official from Sangju-si explained the background of the large-scale maintenance work on outdoor advertisements, saying, "As strong winter winds blew, banners and flyers posted in various places were scattered messily on the streets."
The Namwon-dong Nature Conservation Association removed harmful flyers and advertisements around schools and inspected outdoor advertisements such as banners and signs displayed throughout the market area.
They checked the safety to ensure that the advertisements would not shake or fall due to wind or snow, and simultaneously removed unauthorized banners and harmful advertisements targeting children and adolescents, cleaning up the school routes and surrounding roadscapes.
Chairperson Lee Jong-im said, "After clearing the flyers and banners scattered recklessly, the streets became clean, and citizens can now walk safely."
