Citylabs Signs Exclusive Model Contract with Oh My Girl for 'Baby Shark Bubble Pong Friends' Game
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Girl group Oh My Girl is lending support to the casual puzzle genre game based on bubble shooter, ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends,’ which aims to launch its domestic service in the first half of next year.
City Labs, a KOSDAQ-listed company venturing into new blockchain technology-based gaming businesses, announced on the 17th that it has signed an exclusive model contract for the ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ game with girl group Oh My Girl. With plans to launch domestic service in the first half of next year, the company intends to gradually expand its marketing channels.
Oh My Girl attended the event performance for the ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ game at the international game exhibition ‘G-STAR 2021’ held last month. City Labs expects that Oh My Girl’s image, which has become synonymous with familiarity across all age groups, aligns well with the direction of the ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ game, maximizing marketing synergy.
Currently, Oh My Girl has completed the first teaser shoot for the ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ game and has begun producing a music video (M/V) using a theme song reinterpreted in the Oh My Girl version along with exclusive choreography.
City Labs CEO Cho Youngjoong said, “With the exclusive model contract with Oh My Girl as a milestone, we plan to carry out various pre-marketing activities so that ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends,’ our second game publishing project, can be imprinted with a more familiar image to the public. Based on a globally verified blockbuster IP and having received high evaluations for its hit potential from numerous booth visitors at ‘G-STAR 2021,’ we will prepare differentiated strategies through systematic domestic and international market analysis until the official launch.”
‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ is a casual puzzle genre game based on bubble shooter featuring SmartStudy’s representative IP, ‘Pinkfong Agisang-eo.’ Last month, City Labs secured the IP license for ‘Pinkfong Agisang-eo’ within ‘Agisang-eo Bubblepong Friends’ from Haru Entertainment and signed a global publishing contract for the game.
