KSD Nanum Foundation Awarded 'Education Mecenat Top' as an Outstanding Organization Participating in Busan City Education Donation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] The KSD Sharing Foundation of Korea Securities Depository received the Education Mecenat Top Award at the 14th Education Mecenat Top Awards Ceremony held at the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education on the 16th.
The Education Mecenat Top Awards Ceremony has been selecting recipients annually since 2008, recognizing institutions, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to the activation of educational donation culture in the Busan area. The recipients are jointly selected by Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Busan Ilbo.
The KSD Sharing Foundation was recognized for its contribution to the development of education and the reduction of educational disparities in the Busan area through educational donation activities worth approximately 170 million KRW over the past year. In particular, it supported the Dream Growth Scholarship for students of specialized high schools, the Dream Fulfillment Scholarship for children and youth from vulnerable groups, and the Pulkkothoe Scholarship funded by donations from employees of Korea Securities Depository. Various educational donation activities were conducted, including financial education for vulnerable children such as Dream Start financial education, business education for financial talents, youth Bizcool, as well as special vacation programs at the Busan Securities Museum and support for simple home meals for vulnerable children's families.
