Gwangyang City Wins 'Grand Prize' in 2021 Jeonnam Job Creation Evaluation
Achieving Great Success Following the National Job Evaluation 'Grand Prize' Award
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it received the 'Grand Prize' in the 2021 Jeonnam Job Creation Excellent Cities and Counties Evaluation at the 'Jeollanam-do Job and Investment Attraction Festival' held at the Wangin Room of Jeonnam Provincial Office.
The 2021 Jeonnam Job Creation Excellent Cities and Counties Evaluation selects winners by assessing the performance of 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do across 16 items in 6 areas, including employment indicators, budget increase and execution rate, youth jobs, middle-aged jobs, and jobs for vulnerable groups.
The city created a total of 464 jobs through youth job projects, region- and industry-tailored job projects, and middle-aged job projects, and generated a total of 4,625 jobs for vulnerable groups through women, disabled, and elderly job projects.
In particular, the POSCO Group Employment Academy project, the Youth Employment Academy project in the renewable energy and secondary battery materials fields, and the core industry high-skilled talent development project, as corporate-customized talent development projects, achieved an employment rate of 71%, with 220 out of 309 trainees employed.
Meanwhile, Gwangyang City received the 'Excellence Award' in the nationwide local government job evaluation this year, marking its seventh consecutive year of receiving awards.
