[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 16th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Institutional Commendation in the ‘2021 Public Transportation Policy Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Geochang-gun was highly evaluated for its public transportation infrastructure improvements and customized services for transportation-vulnerable groups, including the introduction of a village circular bus-type rural transportation model, reorganization of bus routes tailored to residents, installation of heated benches at bus stops, and operation of Bravo Burmi Taxi and call taxis for the transportation disadvantaged. Following 2019, it ranked third nationwide for two consecutive years, being recognized as one of the leading public transportation institutions in the country.
