Gangnam-gu '2021 Startup Street Festival' Held
Asan Nanum Foundation, POSCO Group, and Korea Angel Investment Association jointly operate 'Street of Light' and 'AI Exhibition' from the 15th to 17th at Yeoksam-dong Startup Street
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu District Office (Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will hold the ‘2021 Startup Street Festival’ for three days starting from the 15th in the Yeoksam-ro Startup Street area, jointly with Asan Nanum Foundation, POSCO Group, and Korea Angel Investment Association.
This event was planned to raise public awareness of startups. The opening ceremony was attended by Jeong Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, Noh Yong-seok, Startup Promotion Policy Officer of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Kim Yong-moon, President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, and startup representatives.
The main programs of the event include ▲ IR (Investment Recruitment) Pitching Competition ▲ AI (Artificial Intelligence) Exhibition and Lectures ▲ Startup Report Seminar ▲ Wise ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Management Life ▲ Space Tour Event ▲ ‘Street of Light’ Night Lighting Ceremony.

On the 10th, the district installed lamps symbolizing the ‘Dream of Startups’ to create the ‘Street of Light.’ Additionally, 500 light bulbs painted by startups residing in the Startup Street, containing hopeful messages, were also installed.

Jeong Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “Gangnam-gu has developed the Yeoksam-ro area into a ‘Startup Street’ and operates the ‘Gangnam Startup Center.’ In March next year, it plans to expand and relocate to the ‘Gangnam Employment and Startup Hub Center’ to accommodate companies and investment institutions.”
