Gwangju City Awards Certificates to 'Master Craftsmen and Excellent Job-Creating Companies'
Shinjiho and Kim Beoman Selected as Gwangju Masters
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 15th that it awarded certificates to 2 Gwangju Masters of 2021, 3 Gwangju-type Job Certification Companies, and 11 Excellent Job Certification Companies.
This year, the Gwangju Masters were selected as Shin Jiho in the mold field and Kim Beoman in the confectionery and bakery field.
The Gwangju Master is a person who has worked in the same field or occupation for more than 15 years, has been registered as a resident in Gwangju for more than 3 years, has worked at a business site located in the city for more than 3 years, and is recognized for greatly contributing to the development of local skilled technology and the improvement of the status of skilled technicians based on related technical skills.
Selected masters receive a certificate certifying their master status, a plaque, and a technology encouragement fund of 10 million KRW paid in installments over 5 years.
The Gwangju-type Job Company Certification is a policy to discover and foster companies that score 70 points or more in two or more of the four major indicators: appropriate wages, appropriate working hours, responsible labor-management management, and improvement of the relationship between primary and subcontractors in the certification evaluation.
A total of six companies participated in this contest, and after the first eligibility screening, second document screening, and on-site inspection, the Gwangju-type Job Certification Company Selection Committee selected three final companies: Honam Shani Co., Ltd., YSP Co., Ltd., and Daewoong SNT Co., Ltd.
Each of the three Gwangju-type Job Certification Companies receives a certification support fund of 30 million KRW, which is used for programs promoting coexistence between labor and management, employee skill development, and welfare improvement.
In particular, at the award ceremony, representatives of labor and management from the Gwangju-type Job Certification Companies participated together, adding significance to the labor-management coexistence type Gwangju-type jobs that are good for working and good for business.
The Excellent Job Companies selected were Nanum Sesang Co., Ltd., 21st Century Medical Co., Ltd., U2 Co., Ltd., Oreun Co., Ltd., Jiyong Metal Co., Ltd., J2W Co., Ltd., Agricultural Corporation Dawon Co., Ltd., D2 Resources Co., Ltd., Intflow Co., Ltd., K-Tech Co., Ltd., and K-Tech Korea Co., Ltd., totaling 11 companies.
These companies were selected based on evaluations of employment growth rate over the past year, employment retention rate over the past two years, regular employee ratio, and youth hiring performance.
Gwangju City provides certified companies with certificates and certification plaques, and offers a total of 14 administrative and financial benefits including ▲increase of management stabilization fund limit (500 million KRW) and additional interest subsidy ▲expansion of credit guarantee foundation guarantee fees and trade insurance guarantee fee discounts ▲priority support for export promotion funds ▲additional support for structural advancement funds.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “Despite the severe ongoing situation of COVID-19, I thank you for your efforts in job creation and for actively practicing the four major principles of labor-management coexistence, the core value of the Gwangju-type Job project, in the field,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that the innovative efforts of masters leading industrial development, Gwangju-type Job companies, and excellent job companies spread throughout the local community.”
