Muan-gun Institutional and Social Organizations Conduct Joint COVID-19 Prevention Campaign

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, conducted a quarantine campaign on the 13th, urging people to refrain from year-end and New Year travel and gatherings, accompanied by a street march, and asked local business residents to comply with quarantine rules.

According to the county on the 15th, due to the recent spread of COVID-19, the quarantine situation was judged to be severe, and the campaign was held to inform residents of the importance of quarantine.

This campaign was organized by the Muan-gun Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, with participation from about 150 people including the Muan-gun Council, Muan Police Station, Muan Fire Station, Muan Office of Education, Muan-gun Forestry Cooperative, Muan and Sinan Livestock Cooperatives, and 10 related organizations and social group leaders, creating an atmosphere encouraging participation in quarantine to restore daily life from COVID-19.

Participants in the campaign emphasized the importance of quarantine rules such as refraining from travel and gatherings, wearing masks, and vaccination, and moved from Muan Bus Terminal to Bulmu Park, appealing for residents' participation to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.

County Governor Kim San said, “The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area is increasing, and with the spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant, we cannot afford to lower our guard. We will make every effort to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in accordance with strengthened quarantine rules such as the restriction of private gatherings to 8 people, implemented since the 6th, and the quarantine pass.”
