[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Kim Oksu, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, received a commendation award from the Korea Parents of Disabled Persons Association Gwangju Metropolitan City Branch on the 14th.
During his legislative activities, Councilor Kim has shown interest in the rehabilitation and independence of disabled persons and has worked to promote the rights and interests of the disabled.
He also made efforts to find solutions by holding several meetings to normalize the operation of the Nuri Bodeum Daycare Center, a welfare facility for the disabled in Seo-gu, amid internal conflicts.
As a result, he was recognized for contributing to the resolution of opposing opinions between the two sides through the replacement of the facility director and approval of the change of location, enabling the center to operate normally at present.
Councilor Kim said, “This award I received today is more honorable and meaningful than any other award,” and added, “I will continue to pay more attention to disabled persons, who are representative vulnerable members of our society, and do my best in legislative activities.”
