Geochang-gun, 'Lucky Streak'... The Only Nationwide Recipient of Top Honors in Health Ministry and Ministry of the Interior Welfare Evaluations

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 15th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it was the only local government nationwide to be selected as the best local government simultaneously in the 2021 health and welfare sector evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to Geochang-gun, the Ministry of Health and Welfare annually evaluates regional welfare projects by sector and selects and awards local governments that have contributed to enhancing welfare services.
In this year's evaluation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Geochang-gun was highly praised for its achievement of deploying nursing staff to administrative welfare centers in five regions since last year, providing integrated support for welfare and health (public health) services.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been evaluating local governments nationwide every year since 2019 in three areas: visiting welfare service systems, strengthening linkage and cooperation of public services, and enhancing local government problem-solving capabilities, selecting and awarding excellent local governments.
Geochang-gun was selected as the best institution in the field of establishing a visiting health and welfare service support system, receiving the Minister of the Interior and Safety's commendation along with an incentive of 16 million won.
