Boseong-gun Wins Grand Prize in This Year's Jeonnam Province Livestock Policy Comprehensive Evaluation
Received High Ratings Across All Areas of Livestock Policy
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 14th that it won the grand prize in this year's comprehensive evaluation of livestock policies hosted by Jeollanam-do.
Jeollanam-do evaluates the overall performance of livestock policies throughout the year for 22 cities and counties in the province every year to enhance the effectiveness of livestock projects and promote creative policy implementation.
The evaluation areas include livestock policy, animal welfare, livestock management, and livestock resources, covering 30 items in 4 categories.
Boseong-gun received high marks across all fields, earning the grand prize with achievements such as ▲Livestock Policy - securing its own budget (3.2 billion KRW), 100% execution rate of livestock facility modernization, excellent Korean cattle registration rate, ▲Animal Welfare - designation of green livestock farms (18 farms), 80% execution rate of provincial funds, excellent protection and management of abandoned animals, ▲Livestock Management - early execution of forage cultivation and project expenses (100%), ▲Hosting of Korean Cattle Contest, ▲Livestock Resources - achieving the target for clean farm designation applications (100%), and early completion of odor reduction projects (100%).
A county official stated, “We will continue to develop sustainable livestock farming in harmony with the environment to significantly contribute to increasing farmers' income.”

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is investing about 11 billion KRW in 92 projects across 5 sectors this year to strengthen livestock competitiveness, and next year plans to secure about 2.1 billion KRW in project funds to improve livestock odor, a major concern for livestock farmers, by supporting high-speed fermentation equipment for livestock manure at farms with frequent odor emissions.
