Jeonju City Enacts 'Child Play Rights Guarantee Ordinance'
Including reward regulations, advisory group formation and operation, plans to support the guarantee of play rights, and survey contents
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hanho] Jeonju City announced on the 13th that it plans to promulgate and implement the "Jeonju City Ordinance on Guaranteeing Children's Right to Play" within this month, which recently passed the review of the Jeonju City Council.
Jeonju City had originally guaranteed the right to play through the "Ordinance on Creating a Child-Friendly City in Jeonju," but to raise awareness of the importance of children's right to play and to take a step further toward becoming a playground city where children can freely talk and play, it enacted a separate "Jeonju City Ordinance on Guaranteeing Children's Right to Play."
The ordinance newly includes provisions such as the mayor's responsibilities, the right to play, and reward regulations that were not present in the existing ordinance on creating a child-friendly city in Jeonju, and it also specifically stipulates the composition and operation of an advisory group.
It also contains necessary matters for guaranteeing children's right to play, such as establishing support plans for guaranteeing the right to play, conducting surveys, and projects to guarantee children's right to play.
In particular, the city established the mayor's responsibility to guarantee the right to play so that children can freely talk, play, and improve their quality of life, aiming to enhance its status as a child-friendly city.
Jeonju City expects that once this ordinance is promulgated and implemented, it will gain momentum in becoming a city where children can live well by continuously promoting various play policies along with Jeonju City's five major Yaho plans: △Yaho Ecological and Forest Playground △Yaho Book Playground △Yaho Art Playground △Yaho School △Yaho Parent School.
