DB Insurance Reports 43 Hospitals for Cataract Over-Treatment to Public Health Centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] DB Insurance announced on the 13th that it reported 43 hospitals performing cataract multifocal lens implantation surgeries through illegal medical advertisements to the public health center.
DB Insurance explained that after focusing on 50 hospitals with a high number of cataract claims to verify illegal medical advertisements such as treatment testimonials, exposure of surgical procedures, and inducement of third parties, 43 hospitals were suspected of false or exaggerated claims violating the Medical Service Act and were reported to the public health center.
The public health center has taken administrative measures such as deleting illegal advertisements and is reviewing additional administrative actions.
