Police Drastically Rescue Air Force Soldier Who Jumped into Han River
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] An Air Force soldier who jumped from Seongsu Bridge in Seoul was dramatically rescued by police and firefighters.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 13th, the 119 Special Rescue Team Ttukseom Water Rescue Unit rescued Mr. A (20), who jumped from the south end of Seongsu Bridge, at around 1:50 a.m. that day.
Police who responded to a report stating "A person is dangerously standing on the railing of the ramp from Seongsu Bridge to Olympic-daero" found Mr. A on Seongsu Bridge and tried to rescue him, but he immediately jumped. Afterwards, Mr. A was dramatically rescued by firefighters who were dispatched to the scene upon a joint fire response request.
It was reported that Mr. A jumped due to despair during his military leave period. He was rescued immediately after jumping and was transported to a nearby hospital while conscious.
