[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do, operated a "Mobile Vaccine Bus" from the 1st to the 8th, completing COVID-19 vaccinations for over 1,000 residents.

According to the county on the 13th, a visiting vaccination team was formed, utilizing two buses used for dental and physical therapy services operated by the public health center. They visited two townships per day, administering up to 164 vaccinations in a single day.

In particular, residents in areas without entrusted medical institutions responded positively, and on-site vaccinations without prior appointments were made possible, greatly contributing to the increase in the third-dose vaccination rate.

Choi, an elderly resident of Omcheon-myeon, said, "It was a busy time preparing for kimjang, and I was worried about getting the additional vaccination, but thanks to the vaccine bus operation, I could get vaccinated quickly without going all the way to the town, which was a relief both physically and mentally."

The vaccination period for additional dose recipients has been shortened to three months after the second dose. Vaccinations can be scheduled in advance by contacting the infectious disease management team at the public health center. If vaccines are available, vaccinations can be administered on-site immediately.

County Governor Lee Seung-ok stated, "We will promote COVID-19 vaccinations through various methods, including operating the vaccine bus, to complete additional vaccinations," and urged, "Additional vaccination is not optional but essential, so we hope everyone actively participates in vaccination to return to a healthy daily life."
