Designation of Forty-Five Preliminary Social Enterprises in Culture, Sports, and Tourism Sector
Cultural Services and Job Creation Driven by Resident Demand
On the 13th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the designation of fifty-four preliminary social enterprises specializing in culture, sports, and tourism. These enterprises will be nurtured as social enterprises to provide diverse cultural services based on local demand and to create jobs. The designated companies include Noripan, Social Cooperative Art Culture, Globalhan, Cooperative Youth Harmony, 365 Culture and Arts Center, Cloud Forest Atelier, Oreum Donghaeng, Yeonjigonji, Good Body, Connect Human, Lima, Mucksting, Seolseol, Sulsul, Art Forest, Pulppuri Media, Coupon Square, Healim Company, Eden People, Gilbeot, Romantic Farmer, and Bear Run. They are granted eligibility to participate in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s support programs for employee wages, professional personnel, and business development expenses. They will also be involved in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s tailored support by growth stage, management and market development consultations, and operation of lifestyle culture and cultural arts education programs. The status is maintained for three years. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "An explanatory session will be held early next year to guide the roles of social enterprises and support projects." They added, "We hope these innovative companies will grow into enterprises that expand cultural services and generate profits together with capable cultural personnel."
