Jeonnam Jangseong-gun Issues Emergency Administrative Order Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has issued an administrative order to conduct diagnostic tests for all residents of Hwangryong-myeon, where a large number of COVID-19 cases have recently occurred.
The county announced this on the 12th through an appeal by Yuduseok, the governor of Jangseong-gun.
Governor Yu stated, “One month after the government’s phased return to normal life measures, the nationwide daily confirmed cases have approached 7,000, creating a serious situation. The cities and counties in Jeonnam are also showing a rapid spread, and recently, 10 residents in Jangseong were confirmed positive at once.”
According to the county, between the 11th and 12th, 10 confirmed cases occurred collectively in the Hwangryong-myeon area, and it was confirmed that residents who visited other regions had contact with confirmed patients.
Governor Yu issued an emergency administrative order requesting ▲ all Jangseong-gun public officials to undergo testing on the 12th, and all Hwangryong-myeon residents by the 14th ▲ urging residents aged 60 and over to receive additional vaccine doses ▲ and actively practicing a “pause” for the next two weeks by refraining from gatherings and visits to other regions.
