President Jo served as an elementary school teacher for 38 years and was recognized for her contributions to the promotion of national education and regional community development, receiving numerous awards including the Order of Civil Merit, Pomegranate Medal, and the Lions Medal.
This award was given in recognition of her enthusiastic leadership in various women's movement and social service organizations even after retiring from teaching, and for her exemplary activities as president of the Okdang Women and Senior Citizens Association in Yeonggwang-gun at the age of 89, leading to her selection for the Silver Leader Award.
President Jo expressed her gratitude, saying, "I have only lived my life doing my best while raising two sons and five daughters, so I am very thankful to receive such a great award."
