[Photo] 'Ttukttak' Shelter Opens at Nowon-gu Gyeonggi Technical High School
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) held an opening ceremony on the 10th at Gyeonggi Mechanical Technical High School to celebrate the completion of the ‘School Shelter Ddukdak’ project.
The ‘Ddukdak Project’ is a program that transforms unused spaces such as empty classrooms and hallways within schools into new cultural and artistic community spaces.
Gyeonggi Mechanical Technical High School remodeled an unused classroom next to the library, previously used as a storage room, into a space for students to rest and perform theater, reflecting their ideas.
The shelter was named ‘D&D’ to represent ‘Dreaming’ and ‘Doing’?dreaming dreams and making efforts for those dreams.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, village advisory committee members involved in the project, school officials, and students of Gyeonggi Technical High School, proceeding with project explanations, awards for meritorious persons, ribbon-cutting, and a tour.
