The Central News Agency of Taiwan announced on the 11th that authorities confirmed a woman in her 30s who returned from Eswatini, South Africa, was infected with the Omicron variant.
The woman returned from Eswatini on the 8th and tested positive for COVID-19 the day before. Subsequent analysis by authorities identified her infection as the Omicron variant.
However, it is known that the woman is asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, the number of Omicron variant cases increased by one, totaling five.
