[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae criticized Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, regarding the so-called 'switchstick composite photo,' calling it "a switchstick from a parent's heart."
On the 10th, former Minister Choo posted on her Facebook a message titled "Reform is making what is right overcome what is strong. Let's not give up." She stated, "The all-powerful Prosecutor General privatized prosecutorial power to cover up the crimes of his close aides by obstructing inspection and investigation," and added, "Despite committing serious misconduct warranting dismissal or more, he only received a disciplinary action lighter than a two-month suspension."
Former Minister Choo emphasized, "By ruling against candidate Yoon in the lawsuit to cancel the suspension of duty today, his political justification of political oppression disappeared, and it was confirmed once again that the disciplinary action was justified." She added, "The switchstick of a weak and powerless father does not hurt because it is real pain, but because when the father governs with authority, the child who did wrong cannot rebel, and that is painful," further stating, "It is the same principle that the all-powerful, massive prosecution is governed by the weak power and organization of the Ministry of Justice's switchstick."
This appears to be an explanation added by former Minister Choo regarding the composite photo of herself and candidate Yoon that she directly posted, which became a hot topic. On the 8th, former Minister Choo uploaded on her Facebook account a photo with their faces composited. The photo showed a woman with former Minister Choo's face raising a switchstick toward a man with candidate Yoon's face composited.
Former Minister Choo continued, "Just as defying human ethics becomes unfilial conduct, defying the democratic principle of popular sovereignty becomes a coup or rebellion," criticizing. She concluded her post by saying, "If the strong suppress what is right, that is injustice. A just world is one where what is right can overcome the unjust strong. Reform is making what is right able to overcome what is strong. Reform may be slow and tiring, but it must be done."

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Administrative Division 4 of the Seoul Administrative Court (Chief Judge Han Won-gyo) dismissed the lawsuit filed by candidate Yoon to cancel the suspension order he received from the Ministry of Justice during his tenure as Prosecutor General. The court reasoned that since candidate Yoon had already resigned from the Prosecutor General position, there was no benefit to be gained from the lawsuit. In response, Yoon's side stated, "We respect the court's judgment," but added, "We will do our best to sufficiently demonstrate the illegality and unfairness of the Ministry of Justice's disciplinary action in the ongoing appeal trial of the disciplinary cancellation case."
