20s Man Who Killed Ex-Partner's Family Under 'Personal Protection' to Have Arrest Warrant Requested Today

According to the police on the 11th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul arrested Lee (26) yesterday on charges of murder and attempted murder, detained him in a holding cell, and is currently investigating. The police plan to request an arrest warrant for Lee today.
Lee is accused of going to the fourth floor of a villa in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, to the home of A (21) yesterday afternoon and stabbing A's mother (49) and younger brother (13) in the chest and neck with a weapon. A was not at the scene during the incident. A's father, who was out at the time, realized the incident while on the phone with his wife and reported it. Lee fled the scene and hid in the vacant neighboring apartment but was caught in the act.
The victims were immediately taken to the hospital, but the mother eventually died. The younger brother is receiving treatment but is reported to be in critical condition due to severe bleeding.
