Daekyung University Department of Theater and Film, 8 Works Relay Performances in Daehakro, Miryang, Daegu, and More

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Department of Theater and Film at Daekyung University announced on the 10th that it will perform eight works in relay at Daehakro and small theaters in Daegu through an intensive two-week course at Miryang Arena (formerly Miryang Theater Village).
Miryang Arena is a representative venue for domestic theater festivals, and to enhance the professionalism of enrolled students and expand on-site theater education, about 90 theater majors will participate over two weeks to present four works.
The intensive theater education course consists of speech and movement, modern drama research, and performance production practice, with participation from department professors (Kim Geonpyo, Kim Jeonggeun, Kim Gwiseon, Kim Jongseok, Kim Jonghee, Hwang Junhyeong, Lee Jua).
At the Miryang Arena small theater, "Sacheonui Seonin" (supervising professor Kim Jongseok) and "Geuryu? Geuryu?" (supervising professor Kim Gwiseon) will be performed twice on the 10th and 11th, and on the 18th, "Parannara" (supervising professor Kim Jonghee) and a modern play will be staged.
Additionally, through collaboration among the theater troupe Baekdu, alumni, and current students, "Dear Teacher Elena" (Theater Troupe Best Company, Artistic Director Baek Woojin) will be performed at the small theater Gil in Daemyeong-dong, Daegu, on the 10th and 11th.
Meanwhile, marking the 26th anniversary of the department’s establishment this year, the Department of Theater and Film at Daekyung University requires students to complete more than 12 theater production practices before graduation. Collaborations among the troupe Baekdu, alumni, and current students have won more than 15 awards including grand prizes, work awards, and acting awards at national theater and musical competitions.
