National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute Publishes Commemorative Book "Busosanseong 1981~2002"
Inclusion of Investigation Results and Unpublished Photographs of Busosanseong from 1981 to 2002
The Cultural Heritage Administration's National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute (Director Im Seung-kyung) has published a book titled "Busosanseong 1981~2002" to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the excavation of Busosanseong, compiling the excavation results from 1981 to 2002.
This book conveniently consolidates the seven volumes of excavation reports on Busosanseong previously published by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and the National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute. Past excavation photos and drawings have been converted into high-resolution digital (color) materials and included.
The book categorizes the excavated remains according to their characteristics into fortress walls and remains within Busosanseong, then further divides the fortress walls into fortress walls, gates, and auxiliary facilities, and the internal remains into building sites, water facilities, and other facilities. It also accurately marks the location of the protective shelter for the Yuan Dynasty stele, which had fallen during the Japanese colonial period and was later restored.
