Naju Local Food Direct Market Surpasses 'Cumulative Sales of 20 Billion KRW' in 6 Years
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The Jeonnam Naju Local Food Direct Store Bitgaram Branch has surpassed cumulative sales of 20 billion KRW six years after its opening.
The city announced on the 8th that it will hold a consumer appreciation event over the weekend on the 11th and 12th to celebrate reaching cumulative sales of 20 billion KRW.
As of the 30th of last month, the Bitgaram Branch ships agricultural products from 611 farms, aiming to secure stable sales channels for small-scale and elderly farmers and to provide safe food to consumers.
The number of consumer members is 12,165, about one-tenth of the total population of Naju City, and is steadily increasing based on trust in food.
The event celebrating cumulative sales exceeding 20 billion KRW was prepared with support from shipping farms and companies as a token of gratitude to consumers.
There will be displays of banners promoting food with faces, product discounts, raffles, gifts, and consumer coupon events.
During the event period, customers who purchase more than 20,000 KRW at the Bitgaram Branch will receive either 1 kg of white rice or a raffle ticket for an instant prize draw.
The raffle prizes include local agricultural products (processed goods) such as melons, eel, pear juice, and wheat snacks.
The agricultural and processed food discount event will prioritize COVID-19 infection prevention by minimizing customer queues, and some products will be offered in surprise time sales.
Regarding this event, the Naju Agricultural Promotion Foundation mandates mask-wearing, social distancing, disinfects and ventilates the direct store more than twice daily, and provides hand sanitizers and disposable gloves.
A city official said, "The achievement of 20 billion KRW in cumulative sales is a precious result created by the dedication of farmers and the love of consumers," adding, "As a leading local government in local food and food plans, we will do our best to build a foundation of trust and coexistence between producing farmers and consumers through healthy local food."
