Nutritious Meat Day is a bimonthly local specialized project in Sinheung-dong that provides nutritious meals to neighbors in need.
The project fund is operated with resources from the ‘Together Collected Happiness Fund’ which residents contribute to little by little.
The Together Collected Happiness Fund is a donation that helps residents facing economic difficulties or sudden accidents and disasters, and is delivered to neighbors through the Community Security Council.
For this year’s last Meat Day, led by the Baruge Salgi Committee and Council member Park Kyungja, dishes such as beef radish soup, stir-fried pork, Donggeurangttaeng (Korean meat patties), japchae, and grilled yellow croaker were prepared, and council members delivered them to 20 low-income and elderly single-person households in the area.
Council member Park Kyungja, called the angel chef of our neighborhood for consistently delivering healthy meals to neighbors, said, “I hope neighbors who lack protein intake due to economic difficulties will eat nutritious meat side dishes and stay healthy through the winter.”
